Come and make
something that could
only be made here.

A working vineyard and farm estate, opened — carefully, and to a few — for the brands, the makers and the productions who want a place with something true at the centre of it.

THE PREMISE /

The most interesting places to create are the ones that were never built to be looked at.

You don’t dress this place. You’re let into it.

Polperro is a working estate at the southern edge of the Peninsula — vines on the slope, a certified organic farm just beyond them, a kitchen that cooks what the farm sends up, a cellar cut into the hillside where the wine is made a few metres from where the grapes grew. It has spent close to twenty years becoming exactly itself, slowly, and never with a camera in mind. That is why it holds one so well.

What a brand borrows here isn’t a look. It’s the accumulated attention of two decades — soil read season by season, a single vineyard understood the way you come to understand a person, a kitchen that plans its menus a year out around fruit still in blossom. You can feel that kind of care in a room the moment you walk into it. It is the one thing a set decorator can’t hang on a wall.

THE CRAFT OF IT /

Made slowly, and meant to last.

Everything begins with the vineyard, and with a way of working that could almost be called doing less. Each site is read over years — its soil, its aspect, the way the afternoon light leaves it — and then, in the cellar, largely left alone. The role is to guide, not to shape; to carry what the season gave into the bottle without arguing with it. Even the barrels are chosen the way the vineyard is: a small handful of Burgundian coopers, because the vessel shapes what it holds.

Just beyond the vines, the farm keeps the same slow faith with the soil — certified organic, biodynamic, never opened by a plough — and hands the kitchen produce still warm from the ground. A hatted table grows out of that: menus drawn a year ahead around fruit not yet picked, dishes that taste of one particular week in one particular season. Farmer and chef, standing in the same row, months before a plate is ever set.

None of it was arranged for effect. It is simply what happens when a family spends twenty years paying attention to a single piece of land — and it is why, the moment a brand steps onto the estate, the feeling is already there, waiting, with nothing left to manufacture.

WAYS TO CREATE HERE /

One estate, many ways in.

Christian Kimber Campaign

Campaigns, photography and film

Photographers, brand teams and production companies have long found their way here. In one estate there is a rare amount of range — vineyard rows and ridgelines, the farm in full working order, interiors shaped with Hecker Guthrie, the cellar, open Peninsula sky — and every season rewrites it. For a campaign, an editorial, a film or a series, the estate can be taken privately and closed to the public.

Brand Dinners

Brand dinners and activations

For a launch, a gathering, a moment a brand wants its people to remember, the farm becomes the menu and the vineyard becomes the room. Long tables among the vines, food picked that morning a hundred metres away, wine poured by the people who made it. Not a ballroom dressed to feel warm — the actual warmth, because everything on the table came from the ground you are sitting on.

Leadership days

Executive retreats and leadership days

For the thinking that needs a change of air — a leadership day, a strategy session, a team worth rewarding — the estate gives you room and quiet and nowhere in particular to rush off to. Meet in private, walk the vines between sessions, stay the night in the villas or the Farmhouse. The work tends to go deeper here, precisely because the place asks you to slow down.

Residencies and lasting partnerships

Some relationships want more than a day. Artist residencies, ongoing brand collaborations, distributor and media experiences — the estate has room for the slower, deeper kind of partnership, with the people and brands whose values sit close to our own.

STAY /

For the work that needs more than a day.

Some productions and partnerships want the estate for longer — a multi-day shoot, a retreat that runs into the evening, a brand that simply wants to stay in the world it came to see. Four private villas sit among the vines on Talland Hill, forty metres from the dining room. The Farmhouse, reimagined with Hecker Guthrie, sits high on Donaldsons Road with water views across the vineyard. Both can be taken privately — and when the occasion asks for it, the whole estate can be yours.

ON FILM /

Filmed by a friend, over a year.

Alexander Naughton is a filmmaker and an award-winning cinematographer — but that isn’t really how we think of him. Alex and his wife Chloe are dear friends, and Polperro has become their retreat, a place they have been part of for years. So when Alex set out to make a film here, no one asked him to. He simply decided to spend a full year with the estate, and to catch it across all four seasons — a day in the life of the place, told the way only someone who truly knows it could tell it.

That film went on to win Silver for cinematography at the Australian Cinematographers Society’s Victorian awards, judged by his peers.

We are quietly proud of it. What moves us more is that it was made at all — unbidden, out of love for the place, by someone who has become part of the story, and who, as the story deepens, will keep telling it.

We can’t hand a brand a year, or a friendship. But what made Alex’s film possible — a place with something true at its centre — is here for anyone who comes to make something of their own.

A FEW, CHOSEN CAREFULLY /

The vineyard is always the reason.

We don’t open the estate to everyone, and that is the point. Every invitation is measured against one quiet question — does this deepen what people understand about our wine, our land and our philosophy? When the answer is yes, the door opens generously. When it isn’t, we let it go, warmly.

This is recognition, quietly given, and we keep it that way — extended to a small number of brands and makers, and never offered to all. Some of the company we keep is below.

A brand doesn’t come here to tell our story. It comes to tell its own — on ground honest enough to carry it.

THE COMPANY WE KEEP /

A few names, chosen like the rest.

We don’t collect partnerships, and we don’t rent our name out. We keep a few — with people whose values we recognise on sight, whose work is held to the same standard we hold our own. What follows is not a client list. It is the company we’re glad to keep.

Hecker Guthrie

To our minds, the finest design studio in the country — and for fifteen years, our closest creative partners. Design and development is a true passion of this house: Emma has worked side by side with them on every one of the six projects, her eye and their craft shaping each space together. The cellar door and restaurant. The Farmhouse. Many Little. Amelie & Frank’s. And, the one that tells you everything, our own family home. Fifteen years, and not once have we looked elsewhere. If the estate feels like a single continuous thought, it is because the same hands have held the same standard the whole way.

Berwick Range Rover & Defender

Two names built on the things we are built on — craft, landscape, and the quiet pleasure of the road less travelled. Range Rover and Defender belong on a working estate at the southern edge of the Peninsula the way few marques would: the terrain, the making, the refusal to cut a corner all read the same in a vehicle as they do in a vineyard. An ongoing partnership, and an easy one.

Christian Kimber

A partnership that began as mutual admiration between two families, and years on is still going. Christian Kimber — the Savile Row-trained menswear designer — shot his 2023/24 summer campaign across the whole estate: a cinematic day in the life of the Kimber man on the Peninsula, with the vineyard, the farm, the villas, the hatted table and the wellness studio all playing muse and host, never mere setting. It found its home at Amelie & Frank’s, our boutique in Red Hill — now his exclusive Peninsula stockist. Two houses, one belief: that only what is truly right deserves a place.

Qantas

When Qantas built its master brand campaign, it chose Polperro to build it on — a national story told against a working vineyard, because some things cannot be dressed onto a set, and the camera knows the difference. Audi and Samsonite, among others, have brought their work here too.

If your brand belongs in this company, we would like to hear from you.

GOOD TO KNOW /

Yes. The estate is available for campaigns, editorial, film and series, including full private hire with the estate closed to the public. Its range in one place — vineyard, farm, cellar and interiors — suits productions that would otherwise need several locations.

It is a working estate, not a set. A certified organic farm feeds a hatted kitchen, and the wine is made on the land the grapes grew on. That is the thing brands come for, and it is not something a venue can dress in.

Yes — farm-to-table dinners and brand gatherings built around the estate, with produce from our own farm and wine poured by the people who made it, among the vines or in private dining.

Yes. Depending on the occasion and date, individual spaces or a full exclusive-use estate buyout can be arranged.

Yes — artist residencies, ongoing collaborations and distributor and media experiences, with brands and makers whose values align with our own.
