Friday, March 6, 2020 at 7pm

Join us in the Polperro dining room a we celebrate our land and local harvests. Produce Manager Nick Monaghan and 'Our Farmers' will share with you their stories and triumphs from the farm. Chef Michael Demagistris will present the best produce from the Polperro Farm, Daniel's Run Tomatoes and Tuerong Farm is a share style menu for you to feast on - all perfectly matched with the Polperro & Even Keel wines.Winemaker Sam Coverdale will also share his viticultural philosophy, centred arounf organic and biodynamic management and long steeped traditions. These elements are shared amongst all the the farmers showcased.Don't miss this event and the fascinating insights fro our amazing local farmers.

ABOUT POLPERRO FARM The Polperro farm spans ver multiple fully managed properties in Red Hill. Our philosophy is centred around regenerative farming and building soil life naturally, without chemicals. Usinf organic and biodynamic principles and farmingtechniques, the produce we grow is rooted by a deep understanding of the seasons ans what grows best in our climatic conditions. The farm is led by Produce Manager Nick Monaghan an ex chef and pioneer in the developement of many Mornington Peninsula 'Kitchen Garden' (Flinders Hotel, Ten Minutes by Tractor and RACV Cape Schanck). He is truly passionate about delievering Polperro's vision, workingtowards producing the majority of the restarants produce, home grown. Nick focuses on growing organically and bio dynamically on the estate and surrounding properties, as well as highlighting local farmers with a similar ethos in the region.

ABOUT DANIEL'S RUN "Over 200 different varieties varieties of tomatoes are sown at Daniels Run Heirloom Tomatoes -organically and traditionally grown with love and passion from a family farm in Tyabb' Cheryl McGaffin and her partner, Tony Clarke, run Daniel's Run Farm, growing heirlooms on the one hectre of their eight - hectare property on the Mornington Peninsula. They plant in fresh soil each year, using a "pottager-style" design with insect - attractibng flowers bordering every row of tomatoes. All of their heirloom tomatoes are grown from seed. As you walk around Cheryl's garden, you'll be amazed not only at the multitude of varieties she grows, but also her knowledge. As a passionate grower, she can name every one of her plants, tell you when and where the seeds are sourced and event tell you a story abour each one. Her knowledge about all things tomatoes is remarkable.

ABOUT TUERONG FARM "Heritage, ancient and modern grains. Red wheat, white weat, khorasan, emmer, spelt, maize and stoneground flour from the Mornington Penindsula "Tuerong Farm is the only farm on the Peninsula to grow and mill heritage, ancient and modern cereal grains. They have brought back wheat grains from the 1890's and grow theit crops without the use of systemic sprays. Jason has developed ancient wheat grains from a small handful of seeds 1000s of kg. The simplicity of his flour making process makes sense-chemical free stone ground and milled on the day of delivery. The wheat hasn't been sitting in a shed for years, nor is it roller milled, the flour is packed with flavour and nutrients.

Celebrating the elements with Latta Vino

Rustic and raw, the elements inspire us… Join us for an evening celebrating fire, air, water, and earth.

To inform his specially crafted three course menu Chef Michael Demagistris, is driven by the four elements. Labouring over the open fire with specialty wood, to cook and smoke, sourcing the finest produce from pure waters, rich soils and pristine environments. The menu will reflect the land and journey to plate.

Alongside the rich theme of elemental forces, we are pleased to welcome a dynamic guest winemaker, Owen Latta of Latta Vino, to bring this event to life. Winemaker Sam Coverdale, a keen supporter of Latta –is excited to share Owen’s rustic wines, with a philosophy akin to his own Polperro and Even Keel labels.

⁠⁠Owen Latta created his first vintage with encouragement of his father at their family vineyard at the age of 15 – it’s almost unbelievable that at 34, he’s already been making wine for 19 years!  The Latta Vino wines are experimental, the fruit is all sustainably grown, and the wine is made with no additions.

⁠⁠This year, Owen was named Gourmet Traveller Wine’s Young Winemaker of the Year - labelled as "one of Australia’s most thoughtful and daring winemakers.”

This is a wine dinner not to be missed. In the Polperro dining room for one night only.

Many Little bar & bistro

Many Little is our new all-day dining bistro, late night bar and cellar door, designed specifically with locals in mind. Open seven days a week offering lunch and dinner. Together with a full-service bar, extensive cocktail list and an outdoor beer garden in the courtyard. Being the little sister of Polperro Winery, the name originates from a Cornish saying “many a little makes a mickle’ – when together, many small things make something great – Many Little is a nod to the members of the local community who have contributed to making Red Hill the charming and thriving place it is today.

Polperro Winery on MasterChef

Polperro was fortunate enough to play host to MasterChef Australia for a Mornington Peninsula masterclass with celebrity chef, Heston Blumenthal. 

Our 25 acre property was the star of the show on Channel 10, Thursday the 22nd of June 2017 . The episode featured the three judges we know and love,  Gary Mehigan  Matt Preston and George Calombaris cooking alongside Heston Blumenthal. 

We are so proud that the Masterchef crew chose us and Red Hill as their location for the final roadshow Masterclass destination. ⠀⠀

The Master Chef team came to visit months ago and fell in love with the Polperro brand, the stunning property and our gorgeous staff. We had an incredible day working with the extensive crew from sunrise to late in the evening. It was yet another awesome experience in this crazy journey we are on seeing all that goes into a number 1 national rating production like this. 2015 Polperro Pinot Gris, 5 stars ,95 points "A serious gris, perhaps showing its oak a little strongly at this stage, but the complexity and depth are unarguable. Intense, rich aromas and flavours of nutty barrel-ferment coupled with tropical fruit notes. Concentrated and powerful." 

2015 Even Keel Pinot Gris, 4 stars,93 points "This has a bright yellow hue and a rich, nutty, spicy aroma which suggest some barrel fermentation, while the palate has more depth and presence than most Aussie gris. Lovely texture and drinkability. From Polperro winemaker Sam Coverdale." 

2014 Polperro Mill Hill Pinot Noir, 5 stars ,95 points "Excellent deep red-purple hue and a rich, foresty bouquet with lavish oak and black cherry to dark plum fruit aromas. The palate is rich and full, soft and broad, showing more character the longer it was aired. It will age well. A top pinot." 

2015 Polperro Pinot Noir, 4 stars ,94 points "Medium red-purple in colour; the bouquet offers fresh herbs together with raspberry. It has a charming feathery lightness. Medium-bodied, softly textured but quite intense in its bright, deep fruit-driven flavours. It's lovely now with ageing potential"
