Shiraz 2022

REGION

Heathcote, VIC

TASTING

Violets, spice, and perfumed fresh dark fruits. It’s concentrated with velvety tannin and supple black fruits and beautiful balances with a refreshing lingering finish.

WINEMAKING

+

The fruit is handpicked and 30% whole bunched pressed and vinified.  A minimal amount of sulfur is added and left in large format and seasoned barrels for a total of 10 months.

VINEYARD

+

A blend of two vineyards from Heathcote both on east-facing slopes at 300m above sea level, from Mt. Ida and pt 23 clones of shiraz.

VITICULTURE

+

We purchase our fruit from the vineyards, in partnership with growers, however we do use our own fruit from young vines. We grow, make and farm our vineyards using a philosophy of sustainability and regenerative agriculture, applying a mix of biological, bio-dynamic and organic practices.

REVIEW

+

Sourced from east-facing slopes (cooler) only, in a warmer part of Victoria. Mottled aromas of blueberry, iodine, licorice pastille and smoked meat. Mid-weighted and supple-smooth, with just the right amount of cracked peppery tannins defining the finish, while conferring an element of sophistication. Drink or hold. Screw cap. – 90 Points, Ned Goodwin.
