We were thrilled to have the 2024 Polperro Pinot Meunier selected as one of the top six wines of the day by members of the expert panel.
Judge Dominic Bolton described “I was immediately struck by the sense that this wine is one of the boldest in the line-up. The oak leaps out – it’s unapologetic, charry and toasty, with sweet vanilla and sarsaparilla tones. Concentrated fruit is required to match that kind of oak, and this wine doesn’t disappoint, with ripe raspberries, strawberries, and tart red cherries soaking up the oak spice to balance everything out. The palate has a charmingly rustic nature, unpolished – in a good way – with large-grained tannins. A zingy acid line keeps the wine fresh, and a long finish leaves the drinker mulling over its complexity.”
